Work at BJE

Who are we and what do we do? The BJE is a team of highly skilled and motivated professionals, whose goal is to lead our community in creating vibrant and engaging Jewish learning for educators, families, teens, and adults.

We help teachers sharpen their skills, increase their knowledge, and weave Jewish tradition with innovation during BJE's seminars, fellowships, communities of practice, coaching, and mentoring for teen, family, and early childhood educators. Latest curriculum materials are easily accessible at BJE's educator learning resource centers in San Francisco and on the Peninsula.

We connect students with Israel through the Israel Education Initiative (IEI), Bay Area Schools Israel Synergy (BASIS) day school project, and Israel teen travel programs.

We create meaningful Jewish learning experiences for teens and young adults by operating Diller Teen Fellows, Shalhevet (a journey to Poland&Israel), PeninsulaHavurah High, Jewish Teen Alliance (JTA), Let's Go Israel, and organizing the Young Adult Feast of Jewish Learning.

We bring Jewish learning to children with disabilities and comfort to grieving families during our family camp weekends and by offering special needs guidance to educators.

We distribute more than $1 million in scholarships from the Jewish Community Endowment Fund to keep Jewish summer camps, Israel trips, Jewish day schools, family camp weekends, and college within reach.

We make Jewish knowledge accessible through the BJE Jewish Community Library with the largest public collection of Jewish books in Northern California, family programs, and cultural and literary events. Visit our Library branch right here at the JCCSF!

We launch innovative learning initiatives to re-imagine synagogue schools with NESS (Nurturing Excellence in Synagogue Schools) and to repair the world with BJE's Jewish Service Learning efforts.

And so much more we'd love to share with you! So peruse our site, call us 415.751.6983, or stop by one of our locations!
