Work at BJE
1. What does the BJE do?
We help make Jewish education fun, engaging, and exciting for people of all ages and backgrounds. Click here for details. 2. Who does the BJE do it for?
We serve San Francisco, the Peninsula, Marin, and Sonoma Counties. We figure there are about 7,200 Jewish students, nearly 700 teachers, 45 schools, and thousands of Jewish families and adults, who are impacted by the work of the BJE. 3. How does the BJE do it all?
We often ask ourselves the same question. Our award-winning staff and visionary lay leadership has always remembered that serving the needs of the community is the number one priority. So as needs change, we evolve. We try to help underserved populations, such as families whose children have disabilities. We launch initiatives to support the work of schools and educators. And through it all, we keep the highest level of accountability. 4. Who makes it possible for the BJE to do it?
The Jewish Community Federation and Jewish Community Endowment Fund, private Foundations, and individual donors keep us in the field. Even as you read this, there are grants being written to a variety of national and local foundations. If you're a supporter - thank you. If you'd like to be one, please click here. 5. Would you like to do it with the BJE?
Whether you want to volunteer at the BJE Jewish Community Library, which boasts the largest public collection of Jewish books in Northern California, or at a family retreat, we'd love to have you! If you are interested in attending one of our programs, we welcome you with open arms! If you're an educator, don't forget to peruse the Educators section. And check out the Events section to see a listing of all the events - open to everyone. 6. Do you want to know more about the BJE?
We thought you would. Here are your options, and we suggest you take them all:
  • Sign up for the BJE Buzz, our free and very entertaining e-newsletter.

  • Email info@bjesf.org with any questions you might have about Jewish education.

  • Call 415.751.6983 and you'll be directed to the appropriate party.
