Consultation: personal guidance tailored to meet educators' particular needs
Books: all topics pertaining to Jewish education
Media: video and audio materials, including feature-length films and contemporary Jewish and Israeli music
Software: from the Bible and Talmud to the newest Hebrew learning programs
Posters, Games, Accessories: to enhance the classroom environment and diversify the learning experience
Computer Access: Computers with Hebrew capacity and DSL Internet access
Equipment: copy machine, multi-system TV/VCR/DVD, and CD/tape player
Workshops: ongoing professional development workshops and events
Laminator: $1.50/foot charge applies

BJE Jewish Community Library The BJE Jewish Community Library is your source for Jewish books, DVD's, videos, CD's, and literary events.

Israel EducationBringing Israel into the classroom is vital to creating a strong sense of Jewish identity and peoplehood.

The Israel Education Initiative offers a variety of curriculum resources and learning opportunities, including speakers, exhibits, cultural activities, seminars in Israel, and Living Bridge connections. For details, visit the Israel Center of the SF-based JCF.

Service Learning A great way to connect to Judaism is by participating in Tikkun Olam projects. But what's service without Jewish learning? Jewish study in connection with volunteerism provides meaningful experiences that strengthen Jewish identity in every participant.

The Bay Area Jewish Service Learning Project helps educators combine Jewish study with community service projects. We provide:

  • Curriculum & Other Resources
  • Program Development Support
  • Graduate Level Training for Educators
  • Alternative Spring Break Programs

    Special Needs Resources BJE Special Education Consultant Flora Kupferman is available to assist you in working successfully with all the children in your classroom.

    If you are teaching a typical group of children, you might be interacting with students who pose behavioral challenges or who have a variety of learning disabilities, Attention Deficit Disorder, Asperger's Syndrome, or something without a specific description.

    The Special Education Consultant is also available to come to schools to provide professional development workshops or courses on Sensitivity to Special Needs, Learning Styles and Multiple Intelligences, Teaching Hebrew to Children with Learning Disabilities, and other topics according to your needs.

    The Lookstein Center provides lesson plans on several topics, divided by grade levels.
