"The PJCC recently decided to introduce a new series of Jewish family programs aimed at giving families opportunities to engage in social action and community service together. It's great to be able to offer these programs and have them be enhanced by the Jewish Service Learning Project. Having a resource like this in the community means that all educators have access to enriching their service learning programs and that hopefully more institutions will begin (or expand) programs focused on service."

- Stephanie Levin, Youth & Family Director, Peninsula Jewish Community Center

"I wanted to take a moment and express my gratitude and honor for having such a valuable asset as the Jewish Service Learning Project. It is a resource center that fulfilled its mission perfectly for our synagogue and B'nai Mitzvah families. From planning meetings, coordinating with our education director and staff, to giving a clear overview and direction on the day she visited, we were proud to work with the JSLP staff and the BJE. The project crystallized for our parents and our children to the real task of the B'nai Mitzvah: instilling responsibility for Avodah through Torah. Thank you, and please continue this vital work."

- Rabbi Micah Hymen, Congregation Beth Sholom

"I want to express my gratitude to you for the help that the JSLP gave me last Spring when Congregation Rodef Sholom was getting ready to lead a teen and adult mitzvah trip to New Orleans. Each time we met for learning sessions during the trip we used one of your suggested resources to underscore the Jewish values that inform us to run to do a mitzvah. As supplementary school Jewish educators, we have our students for so little time and need to be sure that what we teach goes deeply into their souls in the short time that we have with them with us. This kind of learning and doing is our greatest hope for highest impact of Jewish learning in the shortest period of time. There is a lot to be said for N'asay v'nismah, we will do and we will understand."

- Claire Mikowski, Assistant Director of Education, Congregation Rodef Sholom

"I want to express my enthusiasm and appreciation for the wonderful collaboration the Jewish Service Learning Project of the Bureau of Education provided me with the Jewish Family and Children's Services Summer Impact community service program. I needed information regarding the Jewish curriculum on the different key topics of Jewish service learning and social issues in addition to the suggestions on implementing this curriculum. Working with the JSLP's staff was key in making the curriculum of Summer Impact work. It is a huge benefit to have this kind of a local resource center and professional staff to consult and work with for the benefit of Jewish service learning projects in the Bay Area."

- Lorraine Harris, Volunteer Coordinator, Jewish Family & Children's Services
