What specialty camp programs qualify for scholarships?

December 18 - 24, 2007 Winter Camp for Kids at Camp Ramah
March 2 - 4, 2008 Tikvah Weekend for Families with Special Needs at Camp Ramah
April 2 - 10, 2008 Passover Program at Camp Ramah
May 23 - 25, 2008 Shabbat Weekend for Children with Disabilities & Their Families at Camp Newman

May 23 - 26, 2008 Spring Family Camp at Camp Tawonga Who qualifies for a scholarship?
Although family specialty camp includes the whole family, scholarships are available for children only. Are there residency criteria?
Yes. Children whose parents' permanent residence is in the San Francisco Jewish Community Federation area of San Francisco, the Peninsula (Sunnyvale and North), Marin and Sonoma Counties are welcome to apply. When is the application deadline?
Applications must be postmarked four weeks before the camp session begins. Can we apply for a scholarship to attend multiple camp sessions?
No. Please submit only one application per family. How do you decide who gets a scholarship?
The Specialty Camp Scholarship Committee of the Jewish Community Endowment Fund and the Bureau of Jewish Education make the final decision based on pre-established selection criteria. When will I know whether my child has received a scholarship?
You and the camp will be notified by mail no later than two weeks prior to camp commencement. What makes the application complete?

  • A completed on-line web application.
  • A signed copy of the 2007 federal tax return with all schedules & W2's exactly as filed with the IRS.
  • If you do not file a tax return, submit all official documents from: Cal works, Food stamps, Social security, Workman's comp, VA benefits, loans and other income for 2007. Where do I mail my federal tax returns requested with my on-line application?
